"My foundation is in rural Minnesota, where scarcity was the norm. One made things from whatever was in hand. I am the same rural based person. I try to expand and explore additional industrial made materials incorporating them with older era materials nevertheless it all really comes down to bricolage.
Whether I’m drawing with hair nets or I’m painting portraits, it’s putting things together that inherently, really don’t belong together; marshmallows or marshmallows and 8 mm film-celluloid film, various things that the very properties of the elements are in dispute."
